Water filtration systems are often used to cleanse borehole water, well water or water from natural sources such as rivers. This can make the water clean enough to use for outdoor cleaning or even remove toxins that would otherwise make it unsuitable for irrigation. However, water filtration systems can also be used to drastically improve the quality of your drinking water.
If you get your drinking water straight from the tap, at Anglian Pumping Services, we think you should consider passing it through a top-of-the-line water filtration system before ingesting it.
Believe it or not, tap water can be shockingly unhealthy in many respects. A filtration system can alleviate this problem. In today’s blog, we’ll explain the problems with tap water in detail so you can make an informed decision about whether to invest in a water filtration system.
1. Metals and toxins from pipes
Before your water reaches your home and comes out your taps, it has to pass through a huge network of subterranean pipes. Many of Britain’s water pipes are quite old. As a result, the water that flows through them often picks up molecules of metal and other unwanted additions. While these metals and minor toxins aren’t deadly, they also aren’t good for your health. A water filtration system can remove them very effectively.
2. Natural toxins
Before water even reaches Britain’s network of pipes, it acquires natural toxins. This occurs as it passes through the water cycle and is exposed to an enormous range of elements and conditions. Many of the minerals and elements that water acquires throughout the water cycle are good for you, but some (including trace amounts of mercury) are very bad for you. Water is treated before it enters the nation’s water pipes, but this treatment can’t purify it completely. That’s why it’s advisable to filter it yourself.
3. Industrial toxins
It’s worth noting that water isn’t just exposed to natural toxins as it passes through the water cycle: it also comes into contact with man-made ones. Heavy industry produces a wide range of unseemly contaminants that can end up in your drinking water. This makes filtration a very wise precaution.
Of course, small water filters are available that can filter a glass or two of drinking water. However, we think it’s better to invest in one of our larger, more effective filters, which allow you to filter large quantities of water quickly. If you agree, check out our range today. We don’t just sell water pumps: we sell truly impeccable filtration devices too.
Our best selling water filter so far this year is the Aquada 2 Altima from Wedeco, a UV filter that can treat water supplies with bacteria problems.
